The purpose of the beginner is to educate you on how to walk, move, and climb ladders, jump, attack, and many other functions that will come to be useful archeage gold later on.

Once your character reaches level 8 / 10, you may choose to undertake any of the five jobs; warrior, magician, bowman, pirate or thief. To Become a Pirate:

1. To become a Pirate, you must be at least Level 10 and have 25 DEX

2. Go to Victoria Island

3. Pay 100 mesos to Phil at Lith Harbor to get to Nautilus Harbor

4. Go to the Nautilus's Navigation Room inside the Nautilus; walk to your right, go into a portal with an up sign on top, and walk to the far-left portal and go inside, next to Muirhat.

5. Talk to Kyrin

For archers, As a new bowman you should find or buy a melee weapon (metal axe, for example, drops from slimes, and wooden swords from Orange Mushrooms) until level 15, and only then buy the level 15 bow. Save up on stiff feathers, tree branches, and firewood to make arrows for free.

In addition, remember Mana Potions cost about twice what Health ones do, and using Skills can rapidly burn money throughout the course of a level.
